"Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and packed lunch. Ali is a wonderful host, full of useful and quirky insider knowledge. As Ali didn't have any other guests that weekend, my friend and I had a room each. My labrador was welcome and made the most of her home-from-home. It was great spot to cover the Hay to Knighton section of Offa's Dyke. Ali dropped us at Hay on the morning of day 1 and went with me to drop the car on the morning of day 2 - which was perfect. (This was much easier and cheaper than the taxis we had organised before.) I can't recommend the Walking Hub enough.
Free parking in the town car park nearby."
"My friend and I stayed for a couple of nights while walking Offa's Dyke. Ali could not have made us more welcome - homemade biscuits, wonderful breakfasts, a beautiful home right in the centre of Kington and lots of useful information about where we'd be walking. Definitely stay here if you can. And if you're having a packed lunch ask Ali for a PJB sandwich - against all the odds it's delicious"
My son Tom and I stayed here for the first night of our 3-day trip walking part of Offa's Dyke. We found it really excellent. Ali is a warm and welcoming host. We got tea and cake on arrival and a great recommendation of where to eat that evening. Our rooms were cosy and attractive, the beds are really comfy, and everything is spotlessly clean. Also, if you like timber-framed buildings, this is perfect as it's such a beautiful environment. There are plenty of interesting books to browse. Breakfast was really excellent, and our packed lunches were great value and absolutely delicious. I had leaky boots, and Ali really helped by recommending some of the special waterproof socks she sells in her shop. This was definitely a good recommendation and ensured that I had comfy and dry feet for the whole walk. Staying here and meeting Ali definitely made our trip very special, and I would heartily recommend the Walking Hub as a base for walking, local touring, or just chilling out in beautiful Kighton. Come and stay at the Walking Hub - and definitely get some of Ali's packed lunches to take you on your way!
"Our stay with Ali far exceeded our expectations. Her house is lovely, beds super comfy, lashings of hot water and we took up the offer of a lunch the next day too which was far superior to any other pack lunch we'd had made up for us. Based above her walking shop what more could you ask for? It was the annual Wheel Barrow race in Kington the night we were there so a wonderful party atmosphere and fellow walkers playing instruments in the pub. It was the best night of our walk and we will be returning to the area as a result of the welcome! Thank you Ali."
"I spent a night here while walking Offa's Dyke and it has been a highlight of my trip. Ali is a lovely thoughtful hostess who really knows what walkers want and need. Here place is lovely, welcoming and comfortable, the beds are super-comfy, the veggie breakfast set me up so well for the day ahead and the packed lunch was the most enjoyable I've had on this trip. Kington is a lovely part of the world and I only wish I'd had longer to enjoy its charms."
"Very cosy place to spend a night. Specially suited for hikers as the host loves hiking too and is all set up for hikers. Clean room with bathroom where you can soak in the tub. Breakfast power muesli with fresh fruit and eggs if you like. (No English breakfast, as host is vegetarian)
It was one of the best places to stay on my whole trip on Offas Dyke."
