The Foot Collective Town Hall - Watch the Replay
During the launch weekend of The Barefoot Shoe Box in Kington, we were lucky to welcome The Foot Collective to stay with us and spend time in the town. The weekend wasn’t just about opening the doors to a new barefoot shoe space — it was about creating conversation, connection, and a shared curiosity around feet, movement, and how we care for our bodies.
The Foot Collective is a growing community of clinicians, coaches and educators who are passionate about helping people better understand their feet and movement, and about challenging long-held assumptions around footwear and foot health. Rather than offering quick fixes or rigid rules, they encourage people to ask questions, explore options, and take an active role in their own wellbeing.
While they were here, we hosted and filmed a Town Hall-style question and answer session with the local community in Kington. It was an open, honest conversation covering everything from barefoot shoes and balance, to injury, rehabilitation, and what it means to build a supportive movement-focused community.
The session was led by:
-
Andy Bryant, podiatrist, bringing clinical insight into foot function and long-term foot health
-
Jim Dooner, physiotherapist, sharing a whole-body approach to movement, strength and recovery
-
Mac Lyon, CEO of The Foot Collective, guiding the discussion and the wider vision behind the community
We’ve broken the full two-hour session into four parts so you can watch it in your own time and dip into the topics that interest you most:
👉 [PART ONE – Meet the Team]
👉 [PART TWO – Barefoot Shoes and Foot Health]
👉 [PART THREE – Community Q&A]
👉 [PART FOUR – Demonstration]
Whether you were here for the talk or are discovering these conversations for the first time, we hope the talks offer food for thought and encourage you to keep asking questions about how you move and what you put on your feet.
