The Bahe Grounding Experience at The Barefoot Shoe Box

Why We’re Bringing Bahé to The Barefoot Shoe Box

Every now and then, something comes along that makes you pause and think — yes, this just makes sense.

That’s how I felt when I first came across Bahé.

At The Barefoot Shoe Box, I’m always looking for footwear that genuinely supports how our bodies are designed to move. Not just something that looks the part, but something that feels right over time — something I can stand behind when I’m helping people find what works for them.

Bahé stood out straight away.

A big part of their thinking centres around grounding — the idea of reconnecting with the ground beneath you, and allowing your body to respond more naturally to it. It’s not about doing anything complicated, just giving your feet the chance to feel, move and adapt in the way they’re designed to.

What really makes Bahé different, though, is how they approach transition.

For many people, barefoot shoes can feel like a big step — and sometimes too much, too soon. Bahé have created what is essentially a set of shoes designed to help you move into barefoot more gradually, offering different levels of flexibility and cushioning so your body can adapt at its own pace.

It’s a really thoughtful approach — and one that makes barefoot feel far more accessible.

So I’m really pleased to be hosting the Bahé Grounding Experience here in Kington — a chance to come in, try the shoes, and understand what they’re all about in a relaxed, informal setting.

This isn’t a sales event. It’s simply an opportunity to try things for yourself, ask questions, and get a better sense of what might work for you. Whether you’re completely new to barefoot or already exploring it, you’re very welcome.

We’ll be joined by Charlie from Bahé, who brings a deep understanding of movement and foot health, along with Josie, whose experience in strength and performance adds another perspective to the conversation. And I’ll be here throughout — as always — helping you make sense of it all in a way that works for you.

There’ll be a couple of short, informal talks during the day if you’d like to join in, along with a relaxed social run on the Friday afternoon. But equally, you’re very welcome to just drop in, have a look, and see what you think.

The event runs on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April, from 10am to 4pm, here at The Barefoot Shoe Box on High Street in Kington. It’s free, and there’s no need to book — just drop in whenever suits you.

If you’ve ever been curious about barefoot shoes — or simply want to understand your feet a little better — this is a really nice place to start.

You’re always welcome.
