The Walking Hub is conveniently located in the centre of Kington on the Offa's Dyke trail. This little retail shop sells just the 'essentials' for walkers. The beauty of walking is that you are only able to carry the bare essentials. Strange relationships can develop with your gear, the best items often acquiring affectionate names and replacing or adding to your collection requires thoughtful consideration! Just like your backpack, the Walking Hub is only a small space and all items will be carefully selected and reviewed before inclusion in our stock. There may not be a huge choice but you can be sure we have already selected the best pair of socks, compass, mug, straps, shoe laces etc…. all those things you may need out on the trail. We would love to hear from you if there's any special gear you think we should be selling, and we can order specific stuff if you want to pick it up on your way through.
Kington is a small market town on the border of Wales nestling in the beautiful and unspoiled Radnorshire Hills. A network of paths weave through, start or finish here. Kington is wonderfully quirky, boasting a medieval high street with traditional store fronts, unique locally owned shops, an amazing number of pubs (eight!) and cafes. It's a popular resting place for many walkers, including those on Offa's Dyke National trail which passes through the town. Not surprisingly Kington calls itself "The Centre for Walking" and has a very impressive annual walking festival. In short, a perfect home for The Walking Hub! Thank you Kington for welcoming your first walking shop. Click on the gallery to see pictures of Kington and its environs.
